The Tea Titans football team’s trip to Salem on Friday ended with another loss for the Titans.
McCook Central-Montrose bested the Titans 41-15 to drop the Titans to 0-3 on the season.
The Titans were within striking distance of the lead when the first half ended with MCM leading 14-2.
MCM opened up the lead in the second half and never looked back, eventually leading 41-2 at one point.
Chase Deckert scored on an 8-yard run and Riley Knutson had a 6-yard TD run for the Titans’ points. Erik Hill had 12 tackles and a fumble recovery. Andy Kappenman and Taylor Osterberg each ran for two scores for MCM. Kappenman had touchdown runs of 1 and 17 yards, while Osterberg had TD runs of 7 and 2 yards.
Kappenman rushed 11 times for 77 yards, while Osterberg gained 83 yards on 15 carries.
Shayne Gottlob recovered a fumble in the end zone for a score and Cody Heumiller ran 17 yards for a TD for MCM (1-2).
The Titans are on a bye this week and take on Canton Sept. 25 for their homecoming game.
